From July to October 2019, FORCLIME conducted an internship programme for students from Tanah Papua. Eight students from Cenderawasih University and seven students from Papua University participated in the internship programme. They were assigned to several of FORCLIME’s pilot areas in order to learn from the FORCLIME team, while also working with partners at the field level. At the end of internship programme, FORCLIME offered small grants for their interns to conduct research related to forestry issues. The results were presented in a webinar series. The first webinar was conducted on July 9th and the second webinar which was conducted on July 23rd presented research results from the following students:
- Audita Garry Yuliawan, Spatial Analysis of Participative Mapping of Community Garden Based on Geographic Information System (GIS). A Case study in Toladan village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency; and
- Fidel Giovano Lopulalan, Spatial Analysis and Participatory Mapping Based on GIS for Confirming the Administrative Boundary of Sere-Sere Village, Yapen Timur Sub-district, Kepulauan Yapen district.
