Following up on the results of a previous meeting on the joint work plan for 2022, FORCLIME recently held a meeting with the Gender Sub-WG from the Directorate-General of Human Resources Extension and Development (Badan Penyuluhan dan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia - BP2SDM) in order to discuss the implementation of two joint activities, specifically the development of a pocketbook for gender-responsive forestry extension workers and storytelling on gender mainstreaming in practice. The meeting was held online on 22 July 2022 and was attended by 25 participants from various BP2SDM working units. The meeting was opened by the Head of the Programme, Evaluation, Legal and Technical Cooperation Section at the BP2SDM Secretariat, Mr. Gun Gun Hidayat, Ph.D., and continued with an address given by the Strategic Area Manager for Human Capacity Development at FORCLIME, Mr. Edy Marbyanto.

During the discussion, a person in charge was designated for the development of the new pocketbook, as was a timeline for the book‘s implementation and an overview of the book’s content, which will include an extension strategy and the role of extension workers in achieving FOLU Net Sink 2030 based on gender mainstreaming. The writing process for the pocketbook will be led by the BP2SDM Extension Center (Pusat Penyuluhan). Meanwhile, the plan is to leave the development of storytelling books open to all employees of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through the use of the call-for-writing method. In this regard, any participants who submit draft writing will be provided with training prior to the submission of their full articles.
