2023 05 25 Rapat Bersama Sek.Wil III BPSKL Maluku Papua ro 4

FORCLIME and the Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership Center for Maluku and Papua (Sekwil III BPSKL) held a meeting on 25th May 2023 in order to build synergy in the wake of the opening of the Sekwill III BPSKL office in Jayapura. The meeting was opened by the Head of Sekwill III BPSKL, Mr. Nelson Kainama, S.Hut., M.Sc. and was attended by the FORCLIME technical team in Jayapura. The purpose of the meeting was to support the Environment and Forestry Service of Papua Province (DKLH Papua) in relation to the formation of the Working Group for the Acceleration of Social Forestry (PPS) during the 2023 – 2025 period, as well as to address plans and preparations for a Social Forestry road map for Papua Province in line with Presidential Regulation No. 28 of 2023 on Integrated Planning for Social Forestry Management.

The meeting also discussed planned cooperation and support relating to the preparation of 27 Social Forestry Work Plan documents for Jayapura City (one Social Forestry Business Group - KUPS), Jayapura Regency (16 KUPS) and Sarmi Regency (6 KUPS). It is hoped that through this collaboration, FORCLIME-supported villages, in conjunction with the Papua Natural Resources Conservation Agency, Wasur National Park and DKLH, will ultimately become models for the cross-directorate Social Forestry programme organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
