GIZ development worker and FORCLIME team member Dr. Markus Müller received the Best Paper Presentation Award at Asia Geospatial Forum on 19th October 2011. Asia Geospatial Forum (http:// www.asiageospatialforum.org/) is an annual conference that provides a platform for the GIS community to share ideas and advance convergence of geospatial information and technologies. This year it took place in Jakarta from 17 - 19 October and offered more than 50 presentations of papers from participants all over Asia.
Dr. Markus Müller, Senior Advisor on GIS and REDD+, presented one of his advisory activities at the Provincial Forestry Service of West Kalimantan. The title of his presentation was "Development of a Web-based Forestry Information System using Open Source Software", in which he described technical as well as organisational aspects of his work during the last three years.
