The Forestry Service of West Kalimantan, conducted a coaching for the Heads of the Forest Management Units (Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan-KPH) and the KPH’s Heads of Planning Departments aiming to improve the province’s forest management plans (Rencana Pengelolaan Hutan Jangka Panjang– RPHJP), the forest management plans of nine out of 17 KPHs in West Kalimantan Province were used as a basis for discussion. The event that was held on 30 – 31 May supported by FORCLIME and IDH.
During the coaching process, the respective management plans were reviewed, scored and additional input for improvement was being gathered. In his speech, the Head of Provincial Forestry Service set the end of June as deadline for improving and finalizing the management plan documents. Afterwards, every KPH will present their forest management plan document to be approved by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
