The Directorate of Production Forest Management Unit of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry conducted a training on entrepreneurship for Production Forest Management Units (Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan Produksi-KPHP) on 25 to 29 March 2019 in Sukabumi, West Java. The event, supported by the FORCLIME technical cooperation module, aimed to promote entrepreneurship skills for KPH officers for independent KPHs. 40 KPH representatives attended the training, including the staff of the FORCLIME financial cooperation module.
The training which was opened by the Director of the Production Forest Management Unit covered relevant topics: Policies in Production Forest Management Unit Business Development, Development of Entrepreneurship Skills, Funds in the Public Service Agency (BLUD), Management of Environmental Services, Marketing Development, Potency of Forest Products in the Energy Sector, and Business Plan Development.
“The training topics are useful, I hope the Ministry can facilitate a meeting or a forum to bring together KPHs, as forest product providers, and potential markets”, said Kristianto, participant from the KPHP Katingan Hulu, Central Kalimantan.
Since 2010, FORCLIME continuously supported KPH mainstreaming and consolidation as strategic instruments to achieve sustainable forest management.
