The East Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service conducted a meeting to disseminate and provide technical guidance concerning 2020 profit sharing from reforestation fund (DBH SDA DR) on 9 October 9 in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The event, supported by GIZ and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), was attended by 120 participants representing all Forest Management Units (KPH) in East Kalimantan, as well as representatives of the North, West and Central Kalimantan forestry services. Objective of the event was to explain the opportunities for using the revenue-sharing of natural resource fund from the reforestation fund (DBH SDA DR), which can also be used to support KPH activities related to forest and land rehabilitation.
During his presentation, the Head of Economy of the Regional Development Planning (Bappeda), Saur Paseroan, said that KPH development could contribute to poverty reduction. On the meeting, other resource persons were representatives from the Ministry of Finance (Ardimansyah) and the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (Teguh Prio Adisulistyo), and Joko Tri Haryanto from the Fiscal Policy Agency.
At the end of his presentation, Joko Tri Haryanto provide information about other financing opportunities for forestry sector development, particularly for KPH development, such as: Green Sukuk, Green Climate Fund (GCF).
