With the intention of preparing criteria and indicators for gender responsive education institutions, the Human Resources Planning and Development Agency (BP2SDM) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) conducted a workshop on Gender Mainstreaming in the Environmental and Forestry Education and Training Programme on 27-29 November 2019 in Bogor, West Java. Additionally, a strategy was developed to integrate gender equality in the education and training programme at the KLHK. The workshop, which was attended by 45 participants was carried out in collaboration with the KLHK Gender Working Group and GIZ.
During the opening remarks, the Secretary of BP2SDM stated that gender mainstreaming is one of the important points in budget planning and performance evaluation of work units.
The results of the workshop are the draft criteria and indicators of gender responsive training institutions and the draft curriculum on gender responsive education and training. Both drafts will be improved and will be implemented in 2020.
