Complying to the legislation related to village forest management, stakes have been put up to mark the Menua Sadap village forest boundary last May. The activity, led by the Forest Management Unit (KPH) Kapuas Hulu Utara and supported by FORCLIME, was conducted together with the Menua Sadap villagers, the local army and police staff of the Embaloh Hulu sub-district. Marking the village forest boundary is one of the activities described on the Village Forest Management Plan, which guided on the decree of the Director General of Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership (PSKL) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (No. SK.3193/ Menlhk-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/5/2017).

The boundary marks are made of  PVC pipes (2inch), some of which are filled with cement. The installation of the boundary marks was carried out by two teams of 12 people; it took four days to position them. During this activity, 54 boundary signs and five signboards have been installed at each management zone boundary in the village forest area. The install signs mark the area which is expected to be managed and protected in a participatory way by the local community.

The Menua Sadap Village Forest is one of four village forests located in the area of the KPH Kapuas Hulu Utara in Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan. Menua Sadap village obtained the permit to manage its forest through the Minister of Environment and Forestry Decree on 29 May 2017.
