After four and a half months engaged in the Internship Programme at FORCLIME, seven graduates from the Papua University shared their experiences on the Internship Evaluation workshop on 28-31 October 2019 in Yogyakarta. As part of the workshop, interns learned about forest management in Yogyakarta through visits to forest management unit (KPH) Yogyakarta (kajuput factory, teak plantation), famed eco-tourism locations (Mangunan, Kalibiru) and the Faculty of Forestry University of Gajah Mada.
During the workshop, interns explained that they gained a lot of knowledge during the Internship Programme. ‘I learned a lot during the internship, most of all, because of the internship I’m more confident speaking in front of many people’, said one of interns, Frids N. Ronsumbre. Additionally, on the evaluation workshop, every intern also presented their research proposal that will be implemented in West Papua. The proposed researches are funded by FORCLIME.
